Four weeks is enough time to make a meaningful difference to your interview performance – if you use it deliberately.
Week 1: Fundamentals
Review the core concepts for your role. For developers this means data structures, complexity and your main language. For data roles it means SQL and statistics.
Week 2: Problem solving
Practise problems daily and talk through your reasoning out loud. Interviewers assess how you think, not only whether you reach an answer.
Week 3: Design and depth
Experienced candidates should practise system design. Everyone should prepare to discuss two or three projects in depth: the problem, your decisions, trade-offs and results.
Week 4: Behavioural and mock interviews
Prepare stories using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Then take at least two realistic mock interviews and act on the feedback.
On the day
- Clarify the question before solving it
- State assumptions
- Test your solution with an example
- Ask thoughtful questions at the end
